Personality: Beretta is a very skittish mare; she shies at even the most harmless butterfly flying toward her. It is highly probable that the only cause of this behavior is of her deafness (see her History), and of her past treatment. However, as we've worked with her, we have discovered that she is a very kind and caring creature. She wants to trust, but she is too fearful at the present. She has become attached to our only other mare currently on the premises, Amunra, and are turning out to be good friends. With time and patience, Beretta will (hopefully) become much more trusting of people again.

History: When we first came across Beretta, she was in poor shape. She was being used as a circus attraction (like many others of her breed), and many people abused her weather it be a staff member of said circus, or a bystander. Though she doesn't have many physical wounds, she has plenty of psychological ones. She is very fearful, and shies at almost everything. We are trying our best to work with her, but it's going to take a long while before she calms down and gives us her trust. After all, she is partially deaf. No, it isn't genetic; she is deaf in her right ear because someone attempted to kill her, but missed. The sound of the gunshot was so close that she lost her hearing. It is unknown why this assassin tried to kill Beretta, but the damage has been done nonetheless. The circus had gone out of business and was trying to get rid of Beretta when we came across her, and told us this story before giving her to us for a small fee of $200. She also came with the name 'Beretta', after the supposed gun that took her hearing away. Since she seemed to be already used to the name, we did not change it. Though her fear of most things could be healed, she will forever be afraid of guns and loud noises (she can still hear in her left ear).
